SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for various tasks involved in the overall operation of Eddy’s Marina/Gift Shop. This includes, but is not limited to, daily oversight of operations; measuring business trends; controlling expenses, and managing all aspects of merchandising and inventory control. Also provide assistance to Sales Event Manager position, with promotion and booking.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

? Receives merchandise shipments from vendors, verifying that the appropriate merchandise is received in good, saleable condition.

? Calculates all retail prices for Gift Shop merchandise based on department percentages.

? Manages bait and tackle merchandise based upon seasonal needs.

? Calculates monthly buy-down amounts on cigarettes, tobacco and chew; along with monthly accruals for payment from tobacco/cigarette companies.

? Generates Daily Sales Report, and Merchandise Quantity-on-Hand Report.

? Contact vendors for credit on damaged merchandise.

? Complete Shipping Requests for returns.

? Ensures that merchandise is accurately inventoried and displayed to its best advantage.

? Maintains accurate, updated files from management and miscellaneous vendors.

? Assists the Accounts Payable Department, when necessary, to verify that bills from vendors correspond to merchandise received.

? Held accountable, to a high degree, for the thoroughness and accuracy of departmental records, reports and miscellaneous correspondence.

? Promotes a maximum level of Guest service and satisfaction in the department.

? Performs Guest service related duties, such as assisting Guests with merchandise selection and/or purchase, and handle exchanges.

? Creatively resolves problems in the area of Inventory Control.

? Maintains a working knowledge of current and upcoming events on property, in order to advise Guests and fellow Associates of same, whenever possible.

? Responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.

? Assist the front desk with guest services, and greeting.

? Assist the Sales/Event Manager with scheduling and events.

? Assists with gift cards production.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

„h High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or ability to pass our Basic Skills Assessment.

„h Three (3) to Five (5) years guest service or customer level experience.

„h Three (3) years of administrative support experience.

„h Or successful completion of a related company approved development placement program.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

„h Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

„h Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

„h Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

„h Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

„h Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:

„h Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

„h Talk and hear;

„h See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;

„h Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

„h Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.

„h Lift and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
