Production Scheduling Support 

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review sales orders and customer contracts for requirements and coordinate job creation efforts to coincide with material availability and production schedules.
  • Implement appropriate action to incorporate modifications due to engineering change orders and purges to work in process (WIP).
  • Review operation instructions, engineering drawings, process charts, and follow verbal and/or written instructions to determine specifications and sequence of operations as required.
  • Work with Program Management, Materials/Procurement and Quality in establishing priorities and coordinate/expedite the movement of product in process to accomplish Depot/ Warranty priorities.
  • Confer with department leads/supervisors in determining progress of work, relay priorities, and provide information on changes in processing methods.
  • In conjunction with area leads/supervisors, expedite materials needed to complete Depot/ Warranty repairs.
  • Maintain work flow visibility and provide coordination of product movement throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain and update production schedules, compile and report accurate timely status of Depot/Warranty work to management.
  • Ensure all documentation is ready for the completion of production processes, and distribute to necessary work centers as needed.
  • Support manufacturing operations and Manufacturing Engineering by coordinating “work around plans” in order to maintain schedule.
  • Compile and report accurate, timely status of all Depot/Warranty work.
  • Coordinate product shipments; assist in preparation of shipments for inspection and process associated packing slips.
  • Ensure that all work is within the guidelines of Extant’s processes, procedures and customer specification.
  • Performs planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases.
  • Implements planned production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements.
  • Reviews schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules.
  • Provides back-up assistance with Discrepant Material Transactions (DMTs) processing for manufacturing work centers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalency required, plus 1-3 years equivalent industry experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to support standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Must also be able to support overtime on week days or weekends as required to support business needs.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
