Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is a Lasallian Vincentian Catholic, co-educational college preparatory secondary school located in the heart of San Francisco, California. SHC is a San Francisco Archdiocesan High School that is cosponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, District of San Francisco New Orleans and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Description

This is a temporary Summer School teaching position. Previous high school teaching experience is preferred, and must be available from June 10th- July 12th from 7:30am -1:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Model for students the characteristics of a Lasallian/Vincentian educator;
  • Support SHC’s mission, philosophy and ESLRs;
  • In collaboration with colleagues,
    • Plan and implement what students will learn, how they will learn, and how they will be assessed in a manner appropriate to the grade level;
    • Provide regular and varied assessments of student learning to compile accurate grades and properly determine what and how all students are learning;
  • Maintain an interactive and timely learning environment, in both physical and virtual learning spaces;
  • Communicate consistently with students, parents, and school personnel;
  • Keep current and complete electronic grading and attendance records.
  • Work with the Academic Resource Specialist and/or counselors to accommodate students who have learning differences;

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree;
  • Teaching credential or work toward it; single-subject teaching credential preferred;
  • Experience working with high school students;
  • Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learning.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree;
  • Experience in a Catholic high school setting;
  • Experience as a classroom teacher.
