Mystic Seaport Museum is hiring for a carpenter skilled in rough and finish carpentry at a journeyman-level in the areas of construction, repair, alteration and maintenance of physical plant, offices, warehouses, shops, museum exhibits and historic buildings. Specific duties include:

  • Performs rough and general finish carpentry
  • Installs wood roofing and siding, tile, flooring, ceilings, and other architectural systems etc.
  • Capable of installing and finishing drywall
  • Performs staining, sealing, painting, and other coating systems
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

Normal working hours- 7:00 to 3:30, Monday through Friday.

Some overtime on weekends and evenings will be required upon request.

Position Requirements
  • Five (5) years of journeyman-level experience in rough and finish carpentry work
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Must be capable of performing job descriptions skills
  • Must be capable of working on ladders and roofs
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

Morgan, America's oldest commercial ship still in existence.
