Internship - Strategic Communications  


We are a unique small business working at the intersection of domestic and international development to improve social, economic, and environmental resilience. We have an exciting part-time (32 hours/week), temporary (16 weeks max.) opportunity for a Strategic Communications Intern.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Communications Specialist and will be responsible for supporting the audit and rewrite of webpage content for a large Government Agency. The candidate should have highly developed reading and writing comprehension, the ability to meet tight deadlines, work well in a team environment, and be adaptable to change.


  • Tasks will include reviewing and rewriting audited webpage content based on Cloudburst’s content strategy and webpage templates.
  • Analyzing, categorizing, and updating existing Agency webpage content into Google Docs.
  • Supporting the development and production of weekly website metrics reports.
  • Making recommendations on visual assets for the Agency website based on best practices in web and graphic design.
  • Working closely with a communications team to provide support for website content, research, reports, presentations, and digital media deliverables, maintaining branding standards and message consistency across communications.
  • Other duties as assigned, dependent on organizational needs and employee skills.
Position Requirements
  • Working towards or received bachelor’s degree in communications, English, political science, pre-law, or related field.
  • Excellent written communications and copy-editing skills with a high attention to grammar and detail.
  • Strong project, organizational, and process management skills, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiar with Google Docs.
  • Self-starter able to work with a highly collaborative team and adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • Interpersonal skills and flexibility are essential.


  • Paralegal experience highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with GSA (General Services Administration) or other federal government agency.
  • Proven experience in a digitally focused role, including HTML and basic principles of web design (Drupal in particular).
