Description

The Evening Study Hall Assistant is an integral part of the library staff and works closely with other staff members and with students. This position is responsible for assisting with the study hall program by implementing policies and procedures and enforcing expectations for student behavior. This may also include circulation desk duties. The Evening Study Hall Assistant will be assigned regularly scheduled shifts and may be asked to work additional hours during the day, and/or weekends, if needed. This position is part-time, Sunday through Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Thursday evening, there are two shifts open. (Two positions will cover all these hours during the academic year.)

 
Position Requirements
  • H.S. graduate; Bachelors’ Degree preferred
  • Strong love of libraries and understanding of their role in a community
  • Familiarity with library organization
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate in a kind, but direct manner
  • Patience, open-mindedness and a love of adolescents with a strong belief that they are all inherently good
  • Commitment to the philosophy of a Quaker educational community and a style consistent with Quaker values
  • Ability to work standing up and walking around for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
