Summary

The individual(s) is responsible for scheduling and conducting on-site visits to License Exempt (LE) child care providers who receive payment through the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, obtaining a current listing of LE Child Care Providers, contacting them to schedule a visit during operating hours, conduct the on-site visit, review and confirm that required training has been completed and that health and safety practices are being implemented, complete a monitoring report, maintain files and enter data in the format and timeframe specified by the Department, and working with the license-exempt provider community to enhance the quality of care being provided in the child care setting. Travel within the designated Service Delivery Area (SDA) is required.

Essential Functions

  • Schedules and conducts on-site monitoring visits to license exempt child care providers that receive payment from the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program
  • Ability to identify health and safety violations in the child care environment, develops corrective action plans, and schedules follow-up visits.
  • Provides basic technical assistance to child care providers on issues related to Health and Safety Standards, including training requirements.
  • Use of computer, software and electronic communication in order to complete and submit reports.
  • Reports abuse/neglect in license-exempt and illegal child care operations.
  • Referring complaints regarding health and safety violations to the Department,
  • Assists Child Care Resource and Referral with Health, Safety, and Child Development training.
  • Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
  • Meets obligations and deadlines.
  • Works with the license-exempt provider community to enhance the quality of care being provided in the child care setting.
  • Perform related duties as required.
