Summary:

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will be the world's premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies. Located at Wilshire and Fairfax in Los Angeles, the Museum will be simultaneously immersive, experimental, educational, and entertaining. More than a museum, this dynamic film center will offer unparalleled experiences and insights into movies and moviemaking.

We are seeking a creative and entrepreneurial individual to plan, execute, and manage an annual fund strategy and program for the Constellation Circle (the museum's leadership annual giving program) and other annual donors. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Manager of Leadership Annual Giving will manage a portfolio of prospects and conduct visits to recruit new leadership AG donors and develop a robust pipeline for the Museum's major donor and planned giving programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and manage an annual fund strategy and program for the Constellation Circle ($5,000+ up) and other annual donors.
  • Maintain a portfolio of 150+ leadership annual giving prospects, developing one on one relationships and engagement that ultimately lead to gift closures.
  • Fulfill membership benefits and ensure that existing benefit program for Constellation Circle supporters is appropriate stewardship for their giving level.
  • Work with the Director of Individual Giving to develop annual giving plan including strategies for donor acquisition and increased individual contributions.
  • Manage all promotional materials for the Constellation Circle.
  • Work closely with the Membership team on mass appeal, multi-channel Annual Giving efforts.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Five to seven years of development experience, preferably with a museum or other cultural institution.
  • Experience in building successful relationships and nurturing ongoing relationships with prospects, donors, volunteers, and board members.
  • Experience drafting compelling letters and crafting promotional materials.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.
  • Expertise with Salesforce or another CRM system.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas effectively and influence donors and other audiences.
  • Must be flexible and resourceful with the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines while staying organized and keeping strict attention to detail and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a positive team-oriented environment while also functioning autonomously.
  • Must be goal-oriented with a high level of motivation.
  • Must be committed to donor confidentiality.
  • Availability for events during evenings or weekends as required.
