SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Program Services, the Program Supervisor will lead in the day-to-day operations of the Fine & Performing Arts (FPA) program at Opportunity Village (OV). The program oversight includes all Very Important Arts (VIA) activities and campus based events involving clients (e.g.: OV Dances, Ambassador appearances, OV night at the Magical Forest etc.). This position will manage the provision of services, program elements, and an environment that promotes safety and maximizes the functional abilities and the well-being of individuals served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (ANE) within 24 hours or as mandated by state law.
  2. Provide an environment that promotes safety and well-being for individuals served, staff and volunteers including, staffing ratios, supplies, equipment, general cleanliness and facility maintenance.
  3. Assist in orientation, staff development and training.
  4. Provide necessary coaching, supervision, and corrective action as needed.
  5. Assist for program operating in a cost-effective manner within budgetary guidelines, (i.e., accuracy of individual enrollment, attendance, billing, supply ordering and management.
  6. Review and monitor client and staff payroll.
  7. Conduct compliance of individuals’ documentation (i.e. quarterly reports, ID notes, individual/family communications, Person Centered Plans, all data tracking documentation, as well as volunteer hours and consent forms).
  8. Ensure staff participation, in goal-specific activities, and documentation of individuals’ progress towards individual goals.
  9. Collaborate and coordinate care with other direct care professionals, including nursing and care coordination staff
  10. Assist in compliance with Federal and State regulations, and Opportunity Village policies and procedures.
  11. Actively participates in community networking, public education, and individual advocacy.
  12. Conduct client abuse, isolation, neglect and exploitation investigations.
  13. Coordinate program curriculum calendar, including class offerings, rosters, and regular rotation schedule.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will supervise the following:

  • Activities Coordinator Staff in FPA and Culinary Training Program
  • Senior and Lead Activities Coordinator Staff
  • FPA Mentors
  • FPA Administrative Assistant

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written)
  • Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Must encompass a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to fill out all required documentation (i.e. ID Notes and Incident Reports)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field with one (1) year of verifiable work experience Human Services or related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent with (2) two years’ experience in Human Service or Health Care Field.
  • Required: Two years in a leadership role.
  • Required: Two years’ experience in Fine or Performing Arts.
  • Required: Nevada Driver’s License and a clean Driver History.
  • Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification is required or the ability to supply certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Required: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Required: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities.
