Description

Manages the scheduling of daily transportation in the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s (RTC) Trapeze system for Opportunity Village. This includes the arrival and departure of clients as well as daily outings amongst five main campuses and several satellite work sites. Point person for all automated transportation requests and client logistics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  2. Reinforce and positively engage in Opportunity Village’s organizational culture supporting choice and creativity of OVIPs (Opportunity Village Important People) and of staff.
  3. Maintain subscription files to match riders going to the same area of travel; ensure compliance with OV and RTC policy.
  4. Performs optimization on open booking days to solve routing problems.
  5. Assists departments with rescheduling rides due to booking errors or capacity constraints to achieve the goal of no denials on released routes.
  6. Assists management in development of required hours for next day deployment as well as number of vehicles required to satisfy needs.
  7. Liaisons with community stakeholders to obtain accurate directions and locations.
  8. Coordinates, documents and tracks pertinent data to meet the information and reporting needs of the work unit/program.
  9. Operates a variety of office equipment; computers and associated software, maintains files as required.
  10. Prepares, maintains and updates system data and produces custom, formatted reports.
  11. Reviews data for accuracy and completeness; recognizes and defines problems in data; researches questionable entries and undertakes corrective measures.
  12. Provides information and assistance to internal and external customers as required.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned. 
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Data sampling and statistical analysis ability; business mathematics acumen.  
  • Report writing and forms design principles. 
  • Gathering and compiling information; preparing accurate reports. 
  • Using discretion and judgment with operational issues and problems. 
  • Policy interpretation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy while meeting critical deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently in fluid and complex work situations.
  • Team orientated used to achieve objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Logistical knowledge of the greater Las Vegas valley.
  • Preferred: Experience with policies, regulations, and/or legal procedures of transit operation scheduling.
