Summary/Objective:

This team member main goal is to support standard work and develop key sustainable processes across the site to eliminate losses through the utilization of the WCO Daily Operations processes. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager, is a member of site leadership team and maintains a close working relationship with the operating department managers and the WCO pillar leaders. The position requires frequent interaction with all members of the site and must have strong influence management skills. Their focus is to build broad Daily Operations ownership at the site level.

Essential Functions:

(i) Daily Operations

  • Owns the Daily Operations implementation plan across the site.
  • Responsible for linking work from the Leadership Master Plan cascading workflow to pillar action plan.
  • Ask for support of Daily Operations corporate resources when gaps related to Daily Ops implementation are discovered.
  • Understands P, D, C, A relationship on daily operations boards utilizing corporate standards.
  • Drives sustainability utilizing sustainability processes within the site.
  • Understands review processes and customers of each (equipment, line, shift, department, daily)

(ii) Development of Others

  • Training, assessment and qualification of key process owners for daily operations and development of improvement plan where needed.
    • Centerline Owner
    • CIL Owner
    • WPO Owner
    • Sustainability Owner
  • Coach others on key metrics for Daily Operations such as minor stops/run time hour, CIL completion rate for example.
  • Adherence to standard work including training/ qualification and reaction to drift against standards.
  • Qualified to train others in Daily Operations key processes.
  • Responsible for Daily Operations pillar teams internal development.

(iii) Delivering Base Business

  • Model the work of WCO implementation as a way to deliver base business results. (Review processes are robust and defined at each level to verify against base business needs.)
  • Utilize the WPO process to promote a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Utilize standard processes to drive and sustain results ensuring triggers for intervention are in place and working (Centerlines, CIL's, Abnormality, WPO, Visual Controls).
  • Utilizing team design to drive use of WCO tools.
  • Loss metric understanding and improvement work prioritization based on the business needs.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Fluency in the English Language.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years past WCO experience.
  • Prior manufacturing and/or production experience.
  • Prior experience in the nutraceutical industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to influence without direct reports (leadership, floor associates and site pillar owners).
  • Strong facilitation skills, ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical/ Problem solving skill sets.
  • Training/ Development of others experience.
  • Authority to make decisions
  • Continuous improvement mind-set.

Supervisory Responsibility:
None

Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the plant. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position is very active and the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl all day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Objects weighing 50 pounds or more must be accompanied by a second individual to avoid injury.
