Job Summary

Plans and directs all operational activities of the Delta Western Dutch Harbor Site

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Directly supervises subordinate supervisors each of whom supervise 3 -5 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsible for monitoring and keeping expenses within budget.

Oversees terminal administrative functions.

Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and best practices.

Identify and communicate job hazards.

Participate in safety meetings.

Report all injuries, spills, and property damage.

Monitors tank farm gauges, storage, and oil flow.

Identify and repair, personally or through outside services, electronic, mechanical, stationary and rolling equipment.

Complies with local, state, and federal regulatory actions in conjunction with the Environmental & Safety Manager.

Conducts monthly safety meetings.

Conducts site trainings as needed.

Develops and implements maintenance of grounds and landscaping.

Follows DOT Regulations.

Participates in safety meetings and reports all injuries, spills and property damage. Identifies and communicates job hazards. Informs management of safety, environmental, and mechanical concerns in a timely manner.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree, and 3 to 5 years experience, preferably in the petroleum industry, or a combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Hazwoper
  • Forklift Safety
  • CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Drug and Alcohol Training for Supervisors

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: An individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word and accounting software Mas 90/200.

Other Skills and Abilities: Independently travel to a variety of locations via car or air. Ability to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ability to operate a 2 way radio system.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environmental is generally loud.
