Quality Assurance Tech 



The QA Technician assures the plant is compliant with food regulatory requirements and reporting deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety, quality and food defense. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System to better serve the business.


  • 2nd Shift
  • Sunday - Thursday
  • 1pm - 9:30pm


  • Monitors production conditions, specifications, process controls and tracking controls.
  • Conducts operational facility audits
  • Monitor a system that will verify checks on existing production control forms and be audited on the same forms that meet all program requirements
  • Assures that formulas, work instructions, product specification sheets are verified each shift.
  • Audit and verify all CCPs on-line and take corrective actions whenever necessary to assist in determining the root cause and development of a preventative action plan.
  • Responsible for checking pH levels of each batch of the process.
  • Verify and document Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOPs) inspections.
  • Tracks non-conforming product and their dispositions
  • May assist in pre-Operational inspection procedures.
  • Verifies equipment calibration and makes the necessary adjustments
  • Perform special assignments as needed by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Assists with testing of food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
  • Runs PCR for pathogen testing
  • Ability to make agar for specific tests and usage of autoclave sterilization
  • Establish critical limits for all incoming raw materials and finish product
  • Conducts shelf life studies using microbiological testing and organoleptic sensory
  • Assists with validation studies and special projects that require biological and analytical testing
  • Verifies equipment calibration and makes the necessary adjustments
  • Assists with in-house and 3rd party laboratory testing
  • Tracks non-conforming product and their dispositions when micro testing is required
  • Performs other tasks delegated by Quality Manager
Position Requirements
  • 1-3 years Quality Assurance experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulation preferred
  • Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines
  • The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures as low as 35F
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Be able to work independently with moderate supervision
