This position will serve as a key leader of the Innovation and Learning Experiences Team, and also serve as a resource across departments and teams to accomplish the following: Providing mentorship, direction, and oversight to I&L Program Managers and staff, in developing the strategy and workplan for various I&L programs of work. Associated responsibilities include: Research of learning context and rationale Research of competition or alternative models Research of target audiences and needs Conception, prioritization, development, and orchestrated delivery of a portfolio of experiences to multiple audiences, deadlines, and objectives Development of, and working within, a budget for the program of work Creation of short and long-term goals for the program, and a framework for program development and evaluation Identification of prospective partners across public, private, and civil sectors Develop and manage short- and long-term project timelines Provide direction, support and feedback to other team members working on related programs of work Actively engage and communicate with other departments with regards to the program of work and I&L objectives Developing and executing evaluation rubric and tools Evaluate existing and potential Museum offerings based on adherence to our learning philosophy, customer satisfaction and financial performance. Management of staff, including hiring, onboarding, ongoing professional development and informal performance review. Develop and track department-wide budget, including creation of annual operating and grant budgets and review of monthly financial reports. Develop and track short- and long-term goals that meet departmental objectives and align with the organizational strategic plan. Work on cross-departmental teams as needed Support general Museum activities Some evening and weekend work required Other duties as needed   Position Requirements Requiements: Passion for informal education, particularly related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), computational thinking, and/or design thinking 10+ years of experience working in a museum, informal educational setting, or related field of work Degree in STEM, education, non-profit management, or related field Experience developing and implementing inquiry-based, materials-rich curriculum to children, families and/or adults Experience with learning program evaluation Experience with project management, including budgeting, creating and managing timelines, and supervising staff Strong research, writing, and organizational skills Ability to engage with children and adults in a friendly, outgoing and professional manner Ability to work independently and within a team Creativity, dependability, flexibility and enthusiasm Must be able to travel distances of up to one mile over varying terrains and lift up to 25lbs; accommodations may be able to be made Valid driver’s license; accommodations may be able to be made Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.) Desired Requirements: Ability to make decisions and delegate responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Graduate degree in a related subject Experience using technology to augment and enhance curriculum Experience in designing and delivering professional development to educators and others Fluency in language other than English (with particular interest in Spanish) Experience working with children or adults with different abilities Experience working with science professionals or academics Experience evaluating, developing and / or implementing educational technology, and integrating digital tools in learning efforts   Shift Days   Pay Range   EOE Statement The Museum of Life and Science is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, creed, age, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, military or veteran status, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local law.
