JOB SUMMARY The Design Specialist prepares complete documentation packages for complex electronic and mechanical assemblies with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Prepares complete drawing packages including assembly views and part lists and releases into Product Lifecycle Management System.
- Coordinates with program team for timely release of drawing package in support of program schedule.
- May prepare parts lists including the entry of new drawing part numbers into PLM system.
- Create and process Engineering change notices in support of program schedule.
- Completes work in compliance with applicable internal and external standards and specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree from two-year college, technical school, desired PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of related experience Competencies: Demonstrates competent knowledge of: • Basic to intermediate understanding of Mechanical design concepts and techniques • Basic to intermediate understanding of mechanical drawings tool usage, SolidWorks and/or AutoCad • Basic to intermediate knowledge with Product lifecycle management system (such as Omnify) and produce bills of materials • Manage and organize files using Microsoft windows explorer • Ability to take directions from team manager, senior team member or program manager • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations • Ability to complete tasks on schedule and on budget, with emphasis on improving skills using design tools and techniques ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
