Summary: This positions primary responsibility is to operate equipment that will weld and fabricate corrugated metal pipe assemblies.

Education and Experience: 1+ years of MIG welding and experience with coated steel and aluminum and High school diploma or equivalent.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow prescribed safety regulations at all times.
  • Create quality welds according to plans, drawings, prints, etc.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
  • Change wire, welding as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Operate forklift, if required and trained.
  • Perform inspections.
  • Monitor equipment and request mainenance when required.
  • Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Cross-train as a back-up in other areas of the manufacturing facility.
  • Proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at managements discretion.

Work and Physical Environment: Job operates in a manufacturing environment with the risk of injury. Employees will be exposed to outside weather conditions and occasionally exposed to wet or arid conditions as well as extreme heat or cold. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud. The employee is required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus.
