Position Loan Documentation Specialist

Description

Summary:

The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for successfully reviewing and preparing required loan documentation for closings.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to, reviewing credit documents and loan parameters, verifying closing requirements and preparing loan closing documents.

Reports To: Commercial Loan Documentation Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

Key Responsibilities

Credit Administration

  • Conduct review of commercial loan documentation needed to close the loan
  • Review and verify credit analysis, loan requirements, covenants, and other conditions of the loan -Prepare loan documents for the closing and review with attorney who will assist at closing
  • Other

Due Diligence Process

  • Prepare, assemble and/or deliver to lender all necessary loan documentation for loan closing
  • Assist in due diligence process as needed to close commercial loans
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to commercial loan officers and other staff members, as needed
  • Conduct quality control on complete closings

Compliance & Security

  • Is aware of and complies with CRA guidelines and policies, ethics policy, and non-discrimination policy; complies with banking regulations
  • Comply with BSA requirements as it pertains to your position
  • Secure all confidential data at all times and lock computer screen when leaving desk; follow "clean desk" policy
  • Comply with loan policies and procedures
  • Follow all daily security procedures with entering and leaving the office

Compliance Training & Continuing Education

  • Attend compliance in-person and web-based training when offered
  • Attend other continuing education programs related to position
 
Position Requirements

Educational and experience requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent, paralegal experience preferred
  • 2+ years relevant experience in commercial lending-credit administration
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial loan documentation requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Strong computer and banking software experience
  • Proven ability to stay current with and comply with industry regulations

  • Is regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as, a copy machine, calculator, phone, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time.
  • Is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as, viewing a computer terminal and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned to self and staff.
  • Is required to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to convey detailed spoken instructions to other employees accurately.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • Position is considered sedentary and may require employee to lift up to 10 pounds.
