Share Email Opening Title Psychologist - Specialized Orthopedic and Developmental Rehab Team   Category Healthcare Professional Opportunities   Req Number HEA-19-00019   Open Date 4/22/2019   Number of Openings 1   Department Specialized Orthopedic and Developmental Rehab  Work type Regular Part-time  Grade Grade 9B ($48.85/hr to $61.20/hr)  FTE 0.1  Posting Close Date 05/22/2019  Description Status: Regular Part Time (0.1 FTE); 4 hours a week Key Responsibilities In partnership with clients/families and the interdisciplinary team, provides client and family-centred care which is goal directed, evidence based and outcome oriented Bases practice on psychological science relevant to psychology from other sciences and humanities Supports and respects the client/family’s rights to make decisions based on their own values, beliefs and experiences Demonstrates a spirit of inquiry by examining current practice and identifying questions for study and research Delivers care based on established policies and procedures Collaborates with the client/family to assess, plan, and provide a diagnosis documenting the process according to professional standards and hospital policy with respect for the client’s right to confidentiality Ensures that psychological practice and professional issues are addressed using appropriate lines of communication Documents on client charts and accurate workload statistics Communicates in a timely and effective manner with families and interdisciplinary team members Participates in appropriate education and training sessions Supervises psychology practicum and internship students Demonstrates accountability for own psychology practice by adhering to established professional practice standards Participates in quality improvement initiatives, supports the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment and advances a culture of client/patient safety through work and daily practices Participates in program evaluation as part of clinical practice Some evening & weekend work may be required Qualifications PhD in Psychology and Registration with the College of Psychologists in Ontario required with declared competencies in Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents Previous job related experience working with children and families required Declared competency in family therapy preferred Trauma informed care/trauma focused therapy is preferred Knowledge and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is essential Works effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team Demonstrates ability to organize time and meet deadlines Demonstrates initiative and self direction Demonstrates ability to effectively and efficiently manage fluctuating clinical responsibilities   About the Organization Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital creates a world of possibility by supporting children and youth with disabilities, medical complexity, illness and injury.
