Change Point is a sex positive and substance user friendly center providing syringe services, harm reduction supplies, and free HIV and Hepatitis C testing. Our Harm Reduction and Outreach team provides targeted street outreach in the community and welcomes testing opportunities at special events. We embrace diversity and advocate for medically underserved groups in the community. We have an opening for a Community Health Worker. One of the primary focuses of this role will be to assist with Naloxone education and work as an important part of the team. Advanced education or experience in working with the underserved especially those experiencing homelessness, drug users, the LGBTQ+ community and those experiencing a serious mental illness. Significant knowledge of health-related social issues faced by injection drug users Knowledge of Harm Reduction Philosophy as a tool of engagement, Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing Knowledge of risk reduction, safer injection techniques and overdose prevention Able to work in a fast paced environment, self-directed, motivated but with ability to work independently as well as part of a team. MUST be free of judgement and willing to accept choices of others Computer skills essential for conducting data collection, entry and analysis Able to work flexible hours.
