Description

LSA's Irvine office is seeking a full-time Technical Editor with strong technical skills in Word and Adobe Creative Suite. Candidate must be detail oriented and proficient in MS Word. Job duties include the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Edits and prepares documents.
  • Uses various business software applications to produce a variety of media.
  • Proofreads and edits work for grammar, punctuation, spelling, completeness, accurate cross-referencing, and format.
  • Enters, retrieves, updates, verifies, and deletes information from electronic files.
  • Organizes and maintains electronic files.
  • Operates standard office equipment.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the format, organization, and composition of business letters, reports, and memoranda.
  • Knowledge of business software such as MS Office 2016 (including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of the operation of standard office equipment used to produce media.
  • Ability to edit text using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability to proofread documents for completeness, accurate cross-referencing, and format.
  • Ability to use business software to create media such as documents and reports, letters, memoranda, presentations, charts, tables, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to select and compile data for correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to explain instructions and guidelines and train others effectively.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and organize and coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to make decisions and take appropriate actions.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education: Education level typically acquired through completion of college undergraduate courses with a degree in English or related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience.
