Description

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE- Our Vocational/Employment Specialist 1 will design and deliver person-centered training and support to prepare program participants for community-based employment, assist them in finding and succeeding in those jobs, and provide ongoing support for the participant and employer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Provide Employment Service (Exploration, Development, and Support) delivery for individuals enrolled in Employment Services.
  • Develop and implement employment-based goals/outcomes for all individuals in ES.
  • Record daily documentation of each Employment Service provided.
  • Record daily data entries into online Cashe software program to ensure billing is accurate and up to date.
  • Assist supervisor in establishing employment milestones to celebrate workplace accomplishments between individuals and employers.
  • Maintain relationships with community employers to ensure appropriate supports are in place for individuals and establish check-ins to identify support needs.
  • Maintain monthly reporting on individuals’ progress.
  • Flexibility to work 40+ hours per week (subject to change depending upon individuals’ employment needs; which could include weekends).
  • Pass medications as needed.
  • Update records, staff and supervisor on specific changes to individual’s support and service needs.
  • Accurately complete all assigned paperwork within the designated time frame.
  • Develop, follow and revise Assessments, Checklists, and Individual Abuse Assessment and Prevention Plan etc.
  • Maintain and assure service-related data are complete, accurate and in compliance with 245D and other regulatory standards, ensure accurate daily charting for assigned individuals.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Coordinated Service and Support Plans (CSSP’s) and Coordinated Service and Support Plans and Addendums (CSSPA’s) as assigned.
  • Work effectively as a team member to design person-centered plans that promote individual choices.
  • Communicate professionally and engage in problem-solving approaches with outside team members.
  • Demonstrate effective time-management, organization, and task prioritization skills. Receptive to learning and applying new skills, techniques and approaches.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, anticipate and respond effectively to change, successfully work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrate professional written and verbal skills

Position Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Credentials

  1. Pass a DHS Background study and Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and maintain clearance to provide direct contact services without continuous supervision.
  2. Reliable transportation for work purposes, a valid driver’s license, a driving record approved by our insurance company and proof of valid car insurance. And at least 21 years of age or older to drive company vehicles.
  3. CESP Certified Employment Support Professional (or able and willing to prepare for exam and successfully complete certification)

Desired Skills and Experience

  1. One-year case management experience with a 245D licensed provider or comparable vocational or employment development or readiness, including working as a job coach.
  2. Over one year of experience supporting persons with intellectual disabilities.
  3. A two or four-year related degree.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
