About the Organization  
Description

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to write well and meet project deadlines is a must for this position.
  • The ability to perform field activities such as site visits/inspections, take detailed field notes, review prior reports and review historical documentation that will result in a comprehensive Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA).
  • Willingness to learn how to collect asbestos and lead paint samples, and, if needed, learn to perform abatement oversight activities for asbestos, lead and microbial projects.
  • Willingness to cross-train with other departments such as Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Compliance.
  • Prepare samples for analytical testing, recording survey data in approved forms.
  • Prepare reports detailing field activities.
  • Assist with other projects as requested and drive company or rental vehicles.
  • May be required to work off-hours and weekends, and travel in state (30%) and out of state may be required.
  • Abide by ATC's health and safety policies and procedures.
 
Position Requirements

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements/Qualifications:AS/BS – Science / Geology or Other degree with appropriate experience --OR-- HS Diploma with field experience will be considered. 1 to 5 years of experience in performing Phase I ESAs. Preference given to candidates who meet the definition of an Environmental Professional. Proficient in Microsoft Office with technical writing skills preferred.
  • Have or willing to obtain Asbestos Building Inspector certification, Asbestos Contractor Supervisor certification, Lead Paint Inspector or Risk Assessor certification preferred, 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, and maintain certifications for the duration of your employment with ATC.
  • Must have strong writing skills
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to learn asbestos and/or lead sampling and abatement oversight skills
  • Must be able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Must work well with clients and outside contractors
  • Must take accurate, detailed field notes
  • Must be willing to follow Health and Safety policies at all times
