About the Organization  

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage various traditional geotechnical engineering investigation projects (including highway projects) including high-end private facilities, industrial facilities, dams and roadways.
  • Perform complex geotechnical engineering investigations, analyses and development of appropriate solutions to complex geotechnical problems.
  • Development of final geotechnical engineering design recommendations suitable for use in the design of construction of the related facility.
  • Mentor staff and project level personnel.
  • Project management of all phases of projects including, drilling, lab testing, engineering analyses, report preparation, invoicing and client management.
  • Management and control of project budgets
  • Technical and fee proposal preparation
  • Reviewing reports prepared by other staff
  • Manager of office, supervising materials lab, CMT, and administrative functions
  • Support the ATC safety culture safe work practices and required training
  • Responsible for maintaining existing clients for on- going work and new work
  • Develop new clients over time to promote branch growth
  • Manage responsible spending to maintain branch profitability and budget goals
  • Abide by ATC's health and safety policies and procedures.
Position Requirements

Basic qualifications:

  • Indiana Professional Engineer registration (or ability to attain Indiana PE by reciprocity)
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 12 years relevant experience practicing as a geotechnical engineer
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License

Desired qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical engineering emphasis
  • Experience with specialty testing methods such as CPT, PDA, cross-hole sonic logging, geophysical testing, etc.
