Summary/Objective:

The Plant Manager role requires a candidate to bring a successful background in Manufacturing / Supply Chain. The candidate will need a track record of accomplishment in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. The position requires skills in managing and developing people, delivering results across key performance metrics (including safety, quality, and cost) supporting the launch of new products, managing change, and driving continuous improvement. Primary responsibility is to ensure systems and processes are in place for achieving results identified in the Annual Plant Strategic Plan, including the achievement of FY goals. This role leads and owns all functions at the site, including Safety, Environmental, Manufacturing, Distribution, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, Quality, Scheduling, Finance, and Training. This role is an active member of the MELT (Manufacturing Execution Leadership Team) to lead Divisional team in various activities to improve the network.

The Sunrise facility operates 24/7 with a team of 328 hourly associates, 6 temporary workers, and 28 salaried employees. The plant produces the majority of Nutranext products for The Clorox Company. The plant has an operating budget of $22.7 M/yr. The plant typically spends $6-10M in capital improvements per year (exclusive of large projects). For FY19, the plant is scheduled to run more than 20M units.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures an environment where safety is a core value. Work with plant leadership, engineering, maintenance and operations to create, implement and constantly update safety requirements for the facility.
  • Drive, model, champion and support desired plant culture, vision, team-based structure, and skill-based pay for performance system
  • Manage a team of direct reports. Work to disseminate priorities for team and implementation strategies for self and direct reports. Indirectly manage multiple manufacturing teams and shifts.
  • Monitoring direct reports' performance and the performance of their teams, leveraging recognition programs and supporting the positive progressive discipline process for associates.
  • Provide leadership at all levels of the facility. Work proactively to foster an environment of trust, open communication and ownership.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products and mainframe business applications
  • Work a flex schedule and be onsite during off-shift hours and travel as needed.
  • Lead managers, teams and individuals through analytical problem solving, prioritizing issues and opportunities.
  • Drive cost savings through TPM/Continuous Improvement efforts.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience involving consumer products, nutraceutical and or pharmaceutical industries
  • Digital Supply Chain experience to include, but are not limited to: One Planning, WMS, eQMS, etc…
  • Position will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc.
  • Must be a seasoned leader with a track record of success in a manufacturing environment including driving and nurturing an empowered, high performance culture, developing people (exempt and non-exempt), driving world class safety performance and programs, managing change, continuous improvement, and reducing operating costs
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, decision-making, budgeting and planning abilities, strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Understanding of LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate comfortably and effectively at all levels of an organization, from senior and executive level management to middle management and individual contributors.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and add-ons) and working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Technology or Business
  • Demonstrated skills in motivating and developing managers, teams and individuals through utilization of effective individual development plans, training, empowerment in challenging opportunities, trust, and rewards and recognition
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation, organizational, analytical, written communication, and verbal/nonverbal communication skills
  • Proven track record in translating corporate strategic initiatives into operational requirements and in providing leadership to implement sustainable processes that deliver superior results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and proactively interact and communicate with all levels of the organization, fostering an environment of positivity, trust, and open communication
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively lead and influence and do work across organizational boundaries including corporate resources, contractors and Plant associates
  • Demonstrated experience delivering results
  • Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing, business processes and systems
  • Strong leadership in a TPM/Continuous Improvement environment
  • Demonstrated experience and appreciation for an Inverted Pyramid approach to supporting an organization
  • Digital Supply Chain implementation or ongoing operation
  • Ability to plan and execute multiple projects/activities
  • Safety leadership experience - particularly in the CPG industry is preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP and other ERP processes and systems
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
