This full-time paid internship opportunity is for the summer of 2019. Astrazeneca is looking for self-motivated, hard-working, and multi-disciplinary individual for the data scientist summer intern position. To qualify for this position, candidates should have a good understanding of data analysis process, programming skills in Python, R, SAS or other languages, familiar with statistics, ML/AI algorithms and have basic knowledge on biology, drug discovery, and development. You will primarily focus on evaluating and applying ML/AI algorithms to drug discovery and development study data for discovering diagnostic or predictive biomarkers. Meanwhile, you will have the opportunity to work with bioinformatician on sequence data analysis, assay data processing, cleaning, integration, and visualization.   Position Requirements To participate in the AstraZeneca Intern Program, Students must meet the following eligibility criteria: • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. • Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program, returning to the academic program following AstraZeneca assignment • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 preferred • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Location South San Francisco, CA   This position is currently not accepting applications.
