505 Shingobee Administrative Assistant 

Location Shingobee on the Bay  


Job Description: Assure all clerical practices and procedures are being completed in an efficient and timely manner. To serve as major support staff to all supervisory level staff.



  1. Responsible for records management and the assurance that filing systems are maintained for the property.
  2. Responsible for ensuring business equipment is operating smoothly at all times.
  3. Maintains and efficient mailing system, including distribution of incoming correspondence.
  4. Responsible for ordering and storing of properties supplies as needed (including Bar & Food Service)
  5. Completes payroll as designated by General Manager.
  6. Updates and maintains POS system.
  7. Completes all purchasing (workplace) entries.
  8. Assures all vendor paperwork is followed and completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  9. Assist with HR support on property assuring items are moved through the process (Evaluations, Separations etc.)
  10. Provides major support for all staff, including supervisors, General Manager and upper management.
  11. Ensures telephones and computers are operational adequately through troubleshooting on site or through communication with IT Department.
  12. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  13. Attends all mandatory meetings and training.
  14. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  15. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  16. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  17. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements


  1. Exceptional secretarial skills obtained through secondary school or related job experience.
  2. Must have ability to manage multiple tasks.
  3. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Must have strong interpersonal, communication skills.
  5. Must be able to plan and prioritize work to achieve desired results.
  6. Must have the ability to handle sensitive information in a sensitive manner.
  7. Must be able to work productively in a team environment.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines when necessary.
  9. Satisfactorily complete a 90-day introductory period.


  1. Physically capable of sitting for long periods of time.
  2. Physically capable of remaining on feet, sitting and walking for extended periods of time.
  3. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking and alcohol service environment.
  4. Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.


Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: One to two years related experience

Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills. Must possess skills in MS Word, Excel, and Skills in PowerPoint and Cobra and Great Plains Citrix and Workplace is desired.

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
