Share Email Opening Title Pool Captain  Description Basic Job Function: To supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Areas. Assist with developing and maintaining all operations and procedures involving the Pool and Beach. To assist with managing the Seaside Grill and ensure that the highest quality standards are met for food, service, and cleanliness.   Position Requirements Essential Functions: Assist with hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, scheduling and completing the payroll process for the POOL/BEACH staff. Perform disciplinary actions as necessary. Coordinate wellness activities for the POOL/ BEACH, and be aware of the latest trends of the industry. Review incoming guest histories and names of key individuals. Conduct daily briefings and addresses immediate issues in relation to our guest’s services to the staff of the POOL/ BEACH. Inspect the POOL/ BEACH and surrounding grounds daily to ensure cleanliness. Interact with the staff of the hotel keeping the lines of communication open to best determine the areas and items which may be embellished to exceed guests’ expectations and satisfaction. Maintain data information on usage of the POOL/ BEACH. Liaise with the appropriate departments to ensure collateral meets The Kahala Hotel & Resort standards and furnishes the appropriate information. Maintain log book recording any unusual incidents. Meets and responds to guest inquiry and coordinates special arrangements and requests in the restaurant. Resolves staff and guest issues with tact and diplomacy. Enforces established guidelines, policies, and union contract of the hotel and performs disciplinary action as necessary. Cooperates and coordinates teamwork with other departments. Represents management in guest relations. Handle guest issues and complaints, and coordinate the appropriate action. Provide instruction and guidance for guest and employee safety in the event of fire, power outage or other emergency situations. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department. Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations. Respond to all guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested when working in public areas. Assist any other duties as necessary. Education/Training Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required. College degree in hospitality management or similar field preferred. POOL/ BEACH related courses and Training Experience/Skill Requirements: Minimum two (2) year supervisory or management experience. Previous experience in a first-class, medium to large resort desired. Licenses/Certifications: Certification of tuberculosis clearance required.
