Description

Summary of Duties

  • Perform management responsibilities and recommend related actions, for example, hire/fire, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, training and certifications, work assignments, scheduling vacation, and monitoring attendance
  • Monitor sustaining activities, projects, and levels of customer service (e.g., performance metrics) for materials functions and report status, issues, and risks to management on a scheduled basis
  • Meet with vendors and carriers to negotiate contract items, for example, price, delivery, quality, and quantity
  • Administer vendor and carrier contracts to ensure provision of agreed upon service(s) and/or product(s)
  • Research/Support and resolve invoice discrepancies, errors, and payment issues
  • Review, revise, and/or develop processes and guidelines in support of materials functions
  • Perform special projects concerning, for example, inventory, vendor issues, and credit holds
  • Develop the supply chain team and raise the competency level
  • Actively participate in and support network projects
  • Provide the necessary leadership and direction to integrate continuous improvement in all areas of the Supply Chain
  • Communicates company goals and objectives to the staff and communicates the staff's suggestions and concerns to management, as appropriate
  • Prepares department capital and operating budgets, monitors and controls expenses. Develops capital requests required for budges and implements after approval
  • Prepares and presents accurate and timely reports to management on areas of responsibility
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate talent and level of talent to advance our desired culture and profitably staff supply chain functions at the plant
  • Ensure employees connect with how they drive value for the company; identify talent gaps that are obstacles to superior results and coach employees
  • Resolve customer complaints/issues (internal and external); using them as an opportunity to understand the true root cause and develop a plan to resolve the root cause
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the plant supply chain function and process
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management to attain departmental goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Seven (7) years' experience related in Supply Chain management, preferably in the aviation industry or in a similar environment
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Three (3) years of project management experience
  • Working knowledge of computerized material and distribution management systems
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create partnerships, and resolve conflict between work teams and building high quality relationships across the organization
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
