Summary:

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will be the world’s premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies. Located on Wilshire and Fairfax in Los Angeles, the Museum will be simultaneously immersive, experimental, educational, and entertaining. More than a museum, this dynamic film center will offer unparalleled experiences and insights into movies and moviemaking.

Responsibilities:

The Film Programs Intern will help with the preparation and planning of film series and screenings for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. You will be involved with a wide range of activities including assisting with archival research, print sourcing, and other components of series preparation. You will have a rigorous approach to research, organizing image files, and drafting and editing research summaries, and will be able to conduct archival research independently.

 
Position Requirements
  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate residing in or attending school in Los Angeles County, preferably in pursuit of a degree in film studies, ethnic studies, American studies, American history, art history, museum studies, curatorial studies, or related.
  • Strong interest in curating, film, writing, and research.
  • Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail and a good sense of humor.

This internship is also part of the Academy Gold Program, a summer internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
