The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) is a not-for-profit, independent certification organization whose primary purposes are to establish and monitor a national certification system and to identify those counselors who have voluntarily sought and obtained board certification. The organizational mission is to advance counseling as the premier certification body of the profession with a vision of enhancing society worldwide through quality counseling. NBCC and Affiliates is comprised of three organizational affiliates: the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) and the NBCC Foundation (NBCC-F).

NBCC and Affiliates has operations and partnerships in 40 countries providing certification, training programs and public mental health services through institutes and residencies. Over 66,000 Board Certified Counselors serve the public and advance mental health efforts across the globe. With a portfolio of nine credentials related to professional counseling, mental health, addictions, human services, and career development, NBCC and Affiliates seeks to expand the professional capacity of counselors and human service professionals. NBCC is focused specifically on credentialing, certification and quality assurance, while CCE focuses on providing education and training opportunities and leveraging credentials to best serve communities. Additionally, CCE provides organizational management services for associations, boards, and other management clients. The NBCC Foundation engages in capacity building, seeking to expand access to mental health services in underserved and never-served communities and increase the accessibility of high-quality professional development resources for counselors.

THE CENTER FOR CREDENTIALING & EDUCATION (CCE)

The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) is a not-for-profit organization that provides practitioners and organizations with assessments, business support services and credentialing. Created in 1995 as an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), CCE credentials nearly 25,000 practitioners globally in a variety of fields.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position provides web design and digital media support to CCE and its clients by working with our IT team and our clients to achieve our business’ digital media goals. A hands-on professional with an ability to translate our business needs into client-friendly functions that will expand our website’s influence in our industry. The Web Designer & Media Specialist will be responsible for updating our current websites, web applications, and social media accounts. Additional assistance will be given for managing marketing campaigns within our mass mailing system. Setup of audio video equipment at meetings or events may also be required.

The following responsibilities and duties are a summary of the essential roles and functions of the position. Other duties may be performed as needed or requested to achieve department, division and/or organizational goals.

  • Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our sites and social media accounts
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply
  • Communicates with others as directed on behalf of Director of Client Management Services
  • Assist department in estimating client IT proposals
  • Assists with special projects and events as directed
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Implement and maintain high-quality SEO policies and incorporate them with content produced for the website and social media accounts
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Support in developing and implementing social media plans and specific tactics across all channels of social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and more) for key annual events as well as additional opportunities as identified. Monitor and track all social media initiatives and tactics implemented by CCE and clients and develop reports on those findings.
  • Assist with the setup of AV at meetings and events
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in application development and testing
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design applications
  • Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript,?JQuery?and API's.
  • Knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Platform
  • Knowledge of C# and SQL
  • Visual Studio with MVC in .NET environment
  • CMS experience WordPress, HMTL Mail platform (Higher Logic)
  • Portfolio with designs for internal review
  • Experience creating, implementing and tracking social media initiatives
  • Understanding and use of social media and its role in business.
