As the Graduate Electrical Engineer, you are an entry level engineer responsible for working with the Electrical Project Engineer in the design and development of electrical systems for various project building types. These systems include but are not limited to: power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and communications.


Project Quality

  • Bring design thinking to the process of producing contract documents.
  • Prepare building models and detailed contract documents.
  • Some responsibility for technical coordination of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants.
  • Develop project specifications in coordination with drawings.
  • Provide design analysis consistent with Progressive AE standards.
  • Provide control strategies for project budget overruns.
  • Alert the Senior Electrical Engineer when a change in scope of work changes.
  • Coordinate use and track shared electronic documentation and files with internal and external project team members including clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Use design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD SpecLink-E, ElumTools or Visual Lighting Software, Easy Power and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.
  • Act as an ambassador for company-wide values and ethical standards of practice.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings and activities including ‘Lessons Learned’ sessions.


  • Produce contract documents that are efficient and consistent with the scope of work, schedule, and fee allotted to complete the work.
  • Alert the Senior Electrical Engineer when inconsistencies occur as they relate to design and documentation.

Position Requirements


  • Your Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.
  • Your Licensure: Engineering In Training (passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) preferred (or required within 6 months.) CSI-CDT preferred (or willingness to complete within 1 year)
  • Your Knowledge and Experience:
    • Minimum 0 years of post-graduate electrical engineering experience.
    • Knowledge of the electrical engineering and documentation process. Knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and communications preferred.
    • Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control processes.
    • Ability to produce construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of electrical standards and regulations, and the ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
  • Your Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD required. Experience in Arc Flash Studies utilizing software for simulations preferred. Proficiency in ElumTools or Visual Lighting Software, and Easy Power preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
