Summary of Functions:
A Player Services Host is to serve the guests of the Elwha River Casino at the Players Club desk and on the gaming floor, providing a positive first impression and the reality of the best possible service by performing the following duties:
Accountability:
- This position reports to the Player's Club Supervisor and Manager.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform liaison tasks by receiving and appropriately directing internal and external guests and callers.
- Provide specific and general departmental information regarding the casino.
- Facilitate access to information, respond to written materials and makes appropriate referrals to facilitate dissemination of information.
- Provide high quality customer service and hospitality in the execution of these tasks and responsibilities.
- Provide specialized services to tour groups and VIP guests.
- Build and promote Players Club membership.
- Enter all new Players Club memberships and data entry for complimentary authorization points.
- Redeem Players Club points for casino merchandise and other casino services.
- Research, compile and prepare data for reports; assists with special projects.
- Participate in casino promotions and events to ensure excellent customer service.
- Promote and carry out Casino promotions and events.
- Provide feedback and assist as needed for each promotion and events.
- Answer phones and take messages.
- Occasional cash handling responsibilities for non-gaming (RPOS) funds.
- Ensure compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of Players Club data.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of related experience in the hospitality or retail field. One year of college or technical school preferred.
- Understand the concept of exceptional customer service and consistently deliver outstanding, attentive and friendly service to our guests.
- Ability to handle stress, remain calm and courteous and handle a wide variety of clientele.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department head and employees.
- Skill in solving practical problems, exercising good judgment and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
- Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation.
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation.
- Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:
- Class B gaming license from the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribal Gaming Agency.
- Washington State Driver's License
Physical Demands:
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Frequently involves sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Occasionally involves light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force to move objects.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is moderate
- Travel Requirement:
- Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel time is generally less than a week.
