Senior Advisor, Whole Child Development

About the Organization New Teacher Center (NTC) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving student learning by guiding a new generation of educators. Founded by teachers in 1998, NTC works in conjunction with school districts, state policymakers and educators across the country to increase the effectiveness of teachers and school leaders at all levels. These programs are built upon research-based principles for teacher onboarding, mentoring and ongoing coaching, and are proven to accelerate teacher effectiveness, reduce teacher churn and improve student achievement. NTC has made it their mission to overcome challenges students and teachers face by providing all educators with the support and resources necessary to succeed from their first day to their last. NTC now supports over 7,500 mentors and coaches and 35,000 teachers, and is improving the learning of over 2.6 million students across the country. For more information, please visit:

Under the direction of Product Development, the Senior Advisor will deepen NTC’s expertise and ability to disrupt the predictability of inequitable outcomes for underserved students, defined as African American, Latinx, and Native students; immigrants, students with disabilities; and students living in poverty. The SA will facilitate the integration and application of research across multiple fields to support educators in creating Optimal Learning Environments that meet the developmental needs of every learner. The Senior Advisor will share and extend knowledge and expertise in brain-based learning practices that support Whole Child Development - including social, emotional, and academic development (SEAD), culturally responsive pedagogy, trauma-responsive and resiliency-building educational strategies, Universal Design for Learning, and supports for executive functions and learning and attention issues. We anticipate the Senior Advisor will share NTC’s strong commitment to a racial equity lens in our work and will demonstrate a historical commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
