POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for the supervision of the security organization for assigned shift(s) and location(s). Manages staff schedules, time off, coaching, counseling, writing performance reviews, etc. Provides protection for personnel and company property. May arrange for extra protection for key employees. Develops, implements and maintains security procedures based on policies determined by senior management to meet required codes and regulations. Analyzes loss control and accident reports. Prepares and maintains all required security manuals. Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises security officers and shipping & receiving team, which includes planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel, recommending applicants for employment, and taking employee corrective action.
Teaches and enforces safety regulations at the work sites.
Ensures security patrol priorities are followed based off of the Requirements of RDC and recommendations of the Director of Corporate Security.
Administers and supervises all security operations to insure the safety of RagingWire Data Centers (RDC) personnel, guests, and customers as well as protecting RDC properties from unauthorized access, sabotage, vandalism or theft.
Partners with other supervisors for seamless 24x7 security operations.
Responsible for the supervision (direct or via subordinate supervisors) of all proprietary or contracted security personnel.
Serves as the primary contact for law enforcement agencies while on shift at their assigned facility or campus.
Oversees and administers the operation of all security related systems: access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc.
Reviews utilization and maintenance of security equipment.
Prepares and reviews periodic security reports to Clients and RDC employees.
Organizes and conducts predetermined actions and renders first aid in emergencies such as accident, fire and illness.
Establishes and administers the necessary policies and procedures to accomplish key responsibilities.
Maintains and recommends changes or improvements in the software record keeping system for security guard activities.
Recommends ways to improve security and or correct department function.
Orders, maintains and ensures that all Security Officers meet all RDC Grooming and Uniform Standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree required with focus on criminal justice preferred.
Bachelor's degree and/or law enforcement or military schooling preferred.
Minimum four--five years of experience in law enforcement, industrial or governmental security or an equivalent combination of same with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
Must have experience in the administration and operation of: access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo ID systems.
Current guard license required for state where position is assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking.
Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods.
Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie.
Close visual work on a computer terminal.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
Requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Requires ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORK CONDITIONS
Travel between multiple campus/geographical area Company locations.
Exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors.
Exposure to hazardous work environments.
Data Center environment, including outside perimeter and grounds.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must work on-site; no telecommuting.
Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast paced environment shifting priorities.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center.
Must use personal cell phone for availability during assigned shift and emergency situations.
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and on-call support.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.
