About the Organization  

Construction Materials Testing Project Manager in our Highland, IN office.

ATC Group Services is a national engineering/consulting firm that specializes in environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing and inspection services. ATC Group Services is currently seeking a candidate to fill an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Materials Testing & Inspection Project Manager.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform over-site of and manage technical, budgetary and staffing requirements for construction testing services on multiple construction projects at one time.
  • Assist in preparation of proposals for new work, review and submit client invoices consistent with contract documents, review and submit daily inspection reports to client.
  • Provide technical support, consulting and supervision to field technicians working on projects that are managed.
  • Respond to client and contractor phone calls, answers technical questions, respond to inspection requests, over-see laboratory tests and results and transmit to clients.
  • Perform site visits as needed to address technical issues, resolve quality issues in the field, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Notify engineer or manager of discrepancies/deviations promptly.
  • Ensure that field personnel understand project details, are performing required inspections and tests, preparing adequate reports in a timely manner and are working in a safe manner.
  • Maintain contact with existing Clients to ensure their expectations are being met and that we continue to provide quality services on each project.
  • Develop relationships with new potential Clients to maintain a steady backlog of work and increase the existing Client base.
  • Abide by ATC’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Position Requirements

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience performing construction materials testing and inspection (concrete, asphalt, soils, steel, roofing, etc.).
  • Possess a wide range of project experience at large, full time projects and smaller construction project sites primarily located throughout the State of Indiana
  • Possess a wide range of industry certifications for concrete, soils, asphalt at a minimum (ACI, NICET, INDOT, IDOT, ICC, etc.).
  • Other certifications and experience in floor flatness, welding, roofing and/or masonry would be a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Desired qualifications:

  • Should be highly organized, possess good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Able to respond to client requests for information and schedule personnel to meet the needs of the project
  • Must be familiar with laboratory testing methods and procedures.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications and prepare and submit daily inspection reports on computer
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to use basic Microsoft programs such as WORD, EXCEL and Outlook
