SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring maximum guest service satisfaction, by orchestrating, through the team, production of quality food and in accordance with Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures high standards of service. Manage, plan, organize, market, direct, and review all the activities of the Rival House, including the daily operations and overall profitability of the bowling alley, facility and equipment maintenance. The Manager will ensure that all bowling alley operations are running smoothly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Enforce performance standards, policies and procedures in the venue are in accordance with Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures mission and objectives.
  • Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor and safety regulations; as well as all Tribal, Federal, State, and Local applicable laws.
  • Responsible for the scheduling, evaluating and training of the Associates ensuring staff's compliance with all guest service standards.
  • Responsible for liquor control and ordering for the Venue.
  • Ensure venue operations are run in a smooth, efficient manner to ensure Guests' satisfaction.
  • Review and approve all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all Associates in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Maximize cost effectiveness within the department by ensuring compliance with established Profit and Loss statements.
  • Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring control of Guest grievances and settles them without delay.
  • Responsible for the job performance of all Associates and provides feedback on it to aid the Associates in developing and enhancing skills.
  • Provide input to Food and Beverage Department head concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
  • Review financial statements: forecast revenue and labor figures for the Venue and maintain proper inventory control.
  • Establish priorities for all supervisors and provides assistance as needed.
  • Ensure accurate monthly inventory
  • Participate in the development of new menu items, daily special, and promotions, taking under consideration venue budget, food cost perceived and Guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of company internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining all kitchen equipment and the appearance of the venue in accordance Mille Lacs Corporate Venture standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining open communication throughout the venue, through monthly staff meetings, weekly supervisory meeting, and daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Must acquire a working knowledge of bowling machinery and equipment and bowling lane care within 60 days
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have five (5) years progressive Food & Beverage experience with a requirement of four (4) years of Supervisory/Managerial experience and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education, preferably in the hospitality or educational industry with emphasis in Food & Beverage.
  • Two (2) years alcohol service experience with one (1) year of Supervisory experience in a venue that serves alcohol required if applicable.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR’s.
  • Must be computer-literate with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge and full understanding of financial planning, profit and loss statements, and budget forecasting.
  • Serv-Safe Certification preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement).
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (CARE) preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement).
  • Attention to detail required, as well as strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to clearly explain and demonstrate concepts and skills to others.
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
