Rapidly expanding local franchise of Right at Home, a major international home care company, seeks a Recruiter / HR Assistant to help recruit outstanding caregivers to ensure our clients receive the best possible home care available in northwest Indiana. The Recruiter / HR Assistant will report to the President / Owner and HR Supervisor with the main responsibility of developing and implementing caregiver recruiting plans and strategies to build a robust caregiver pool to meet growing business needs.

The ideal candidate for the Recruiter / HR Assistant position is an enthusiastic and dynamic problem-solver who is proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, possesses strong interpersonal communication skills, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position will manage the full cycle caregiver recruiting process from recruitment strategy to caregiver hire, with an emphasis on conducting phone screen interviews for caregiver applicants.

Recruiting and Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Develop robust caregiver pipelines through applicant databases, employment agencies, nursing and CNA schools, job fairs, internal and external referral sources, social media, and other associations and groups.
  • Write and post job descriptions and ads on related websites. Responsible for posting current job ads via all recruiting channels weekly.
  • Review and screen all incoming caregiver applications and resumes.
  • Conduct initial phone screen interviews.
  • Communicate interview process, next steps, and interview dates and times with all caregiver applicants.
  • Coordinate second interviews with the Owner / President and HR Supervisor.
  • Assist with all steps of new hire on-boarding: prepare all relevant new hire paperwork, coordinate and assist with new hire orientation, review new hire paperwork for completeness, create personnel files, conduct background checks, and enter new hires in scheduling and payroll systems.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly recruiting and employment activity reports.

  • Promote a positive image of Right at Home within the office and in the community.
  • Maintain applicant and employee confidentiality at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications, but not Required

  • Prior experience with recruiting, hiring, and human resources.
  • College degree – recent college grads, especially those with HR or business degrees, are encouraged to apply!

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
