THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION- FUNDING IS DEPENDENT UPON VARIED GRANT AWARD AVAILABILITY
LOCATION: Social Service Building
SUPERVISED BY: Social Service Director
WORK SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri hours may vary
SALARY LEVEL: $14.23
POSITION STATUS: Full-time (Grant funded position - ends 09/30/2019)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Understands/Implements the Lower Elwha Systems of Care values and principles as a core team member;
- Implement and monitor progress of SOC work plan, goals and objectives focused on family;
- Participate in all administrative team meetings, discussions, implement the day-to-day activities;
- Build a trusting foundation with the families/youth of the population who currently do not receive services;
- Builds partnerships with outside community mental health programs, child serving agencies, and community partners to identify families representing the population of focus of SOC;
- Coordinate training and technical assistance to build family leadership/partnership, professional partnerships, implement family-driven practices;
- Ensure participating families/youth have full access to accurate, understandable, and complete information necessary to make choices for improved planning for individual child(ren) and their family;
- Identify, recruit, support and prepare family and professional leaders to be co-trainers and presenters;
- Assist in recruiting and supporting diverse family voice/participation representing the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the population focus of SOC;
- Attend community events for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information to assist the planning process;
- Assist, conduct and coordinate youth/family focus groups, surveys, and other means of data collection for the purpose of assessing needs, improving communication;
- Maintain confidentiality of youth and family;
- Maintain ongoing supportive relationships with families and youth providing peer counselling services, attending community events, and promote family involvement;
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY POSITION:
- High school diploma or GED;
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience implementing family programs and training family, consumers, and providers working in children's mental health (preferred) or related fields;
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and/or fostering partnerships
- Knowledge of Lower Elwha Community/Families
- Pass a criminal background check;
- Must have UA testing done prior to employment;
- Must be able to comply with the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe policies and procedures, including the Drug Free Workplace;
- Must be able to travel and work flexible schedule as needed;
- Must be able to operate Microsoft Office Programs;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Compliance of HIPPA, Federal and State Laws
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in an office setting
- 40 hour work week
