Intern, Social Media 

Description

The U.S. News & World Report Marketing department is looking for a full time, paid, summer Social Media Intern to work with the Audience Development team maintaining our daily presence on social media. You’ll have the opportunity to work for a historically influential brand, learn from talented coworkers and most importantly your work will help shape content used by consumers making crucial life decisions every day.

Daily responsibilities and projects may include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating social media content for U.S. News’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts

  • Assist with scheduling content on social platforms via a content management tool

  • Develop comprehensive competitive insights across the social media landscape

  • Assist with social reporting and analysis

  • Brainstorm new ways to engage audiences on social platforms and grow the U.S. News brand among consumers and within key industries

  • Work with the team to develop and execute social media strategies surrounding major tentpole rankings launches such as Best Hospitals and Best Colleges

  • Source and/or create compelling visual assets (video/photo) for social posts

  • Opportunity to learn about paid social media

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, strong critical thinking and demonstrate good judgement

  • Previous experience with social media in a business environment or significant experience with personal use

  • Preferably an interest in working in social media, marketing or communications

 

This internship pays $13.25 per hour and is a full-time position for a maximum of 10 weeks. This individual will work in our DC location in Georgetown.
