Summary:

The Proposal Coordinator works as a member of the Yorktown Proposal Development Center (PDC).

You will gather, research, organize, and analyze information and coordinate information requirements from many sources to generate cohesive and compelling business development proposals and presentations. You will also create and manage schedules and calendars. You will review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to help the team clearly understand and address client requirements. As a member of the PDC Team, you will help the team create proposals by developing, planning, writing, and editing content for proposal materials.

This is an intermediate level position that will require the successful candidate to learn and apply new concepts and skills. This job will involve learning about solicitation and proposal development processes. This job will require the candidate to gain Association of Proposal Management Professionals Foundation Level Certifications after achieving appropriate experience (one to two years).

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work includes coordinating efforts across several projects simultaneously, requiring self-organization and time management skills
  • Organize, host and participate in team meetings
  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate schedules
  • Create and manage calendars
  • Schedule resources and facilities
  • Request, collect, and organize information
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining filing system in online portal
  • Develop document outlines and compliance matrices
  • Ensure proposal compliance to requirements
  • Format proposal materials for final production
  • Research topics of interest
  • Edit documents for grammar and content
  • Create writing templates and other proposal tools
  • Document processes
  • Create document content through interviews with subject matter experts
  • Edit and/or create simple graphics
  • Preparing PowerPoint briefings for meetings
  • Assist in providing Proposal Manager with a wide range of administrative support
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Limited weekend and after-hours work may be required for successful performance of this job.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Professional Writing, Contract Management, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field and one year experience working in proposals, or;
  • Three years’ experience working in proposals.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently with critical attention to detail.
  • Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint) is crucial

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to three years’ experience working in government contracting industry.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Government contracting industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe PDF desired

Travel: Limited travel may be required
