POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION
Assist Software Engineering staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the design and development of software using the Java language.
Resolve issues in the production environment with the guidance of a mentor.
Work with leading development and organizational tools.
Build high quality solutions, delivered on or ahead of schedule
Perform complete unit and integration testing to ensure the solution meets or exceeds requirements with a zero defect mindset.
During your internship you will

Work within a cross functional group on a wide variety of challenges where teamwork and communication are the most important skills.
Take responsibility for deliverables with the guidance of a mentor.
Gain an understanding of current application solutions as well as current and future project initiatives.
Develop a working knowledge of the RDC client portal, applications and development tools including: REST Web Services, distributed architectures, Eclipse, NetBeans, and Payara.
Develop a working knowledge of our build tools; SVN, Jenkins, and Maven.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must be working towards a degree in Computer Science/MIS/BIS or equivalent.
Must have completed at least two Java courses and one Database course.
Available to work 20-40 hours per week.
Demonstrable skills using object oriented application development.
Highly motivated and fully engaged with a commitment to high standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.
Able to hear and speak into a telephone.
Close visual work on a computer terminal.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform.
WORK CONDITIONS
Typical office environment with extensive daily usage of a computer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must work on-site; no telecommuting permitted.
Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.
