Night Shift Production Supervisor 

About the Organization American Nutrition Inc is a manufacturer of 3 product lines of pet food - dry kibble, baked treats and canned wet. Based out of Ogden, Utah American Nutrition has 4 plants across the US. Ogden, Utah is 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City. The area is in the heart of snow skiing, hiking and other outdoor recreational activity while being near a major city.

Supervises night shift team members safely and efficiently in order to produce quality food pet foods that comply with all government regulations and corporate guidelines. The Supervisor establishes a safe, results oriented culture that includes clear performance expectations and measures with a strong emphasis on accountability and development.

Engaged Employees: Establish and communicate department expectations, objectives, and deliverables, including key measures. Develop a strong culture of accountability where employees are actively engaged, contributing ideas, championing programs, processes and practices.

Production Management: Supervise production and warehouse operations, including safe, efficient manufacturing of quality products to serve our customers on time in full within budget; work closely with plant scheduler to develop production schedule.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process/procedure optimization and improvements, including safety (personal and food), capacity, cost, energy, maintenance and reliability, etc.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with American Nutrition/Southwest Pet Products, federal, state and local regulations, policies, procedures, HACCP, GMP's, etc.

Position Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a food processing environment
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing change; developing a strong culture of accountability and engagement
  • Must have demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekend work as assigned
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, Food Safety, Safety, and Environmental regulations
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
