Cogent is currently looking for an experienced Safety Manager to work out of our Fenton, MO location. This is a Safety position servicing all of our locations. Primary functions for the Safety Manager will be to provide safety leadership, ensure compliance with company safety standards, implement safety directives, improve safety performance, and ensure company safety policies and procedures are aligned with federal, state and local regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Ensure company compliance with customer requirements across the range of industries and geographies. Develop/implement training programs specific to those environments while creating a sustainable culture of safety across our footprint. • Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed and maintained. • Perform on-site safety assessments • Manage safety recordkeeping and reporting requirements • Coordinate safety trainings for all new and existing employees • Plan, develop and implement safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs • Help develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries. • Contractor Compliance Website Administration • Present information in a group and meeting setting with professionalism • Promote Health & Safety awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, etc. • Perform audit practices and records of shops to ensure compliance with company programs and Federal/State occupational Health & Safety regulations. Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations • DOT Program management • Investigate, analyze, and report all accidents resulting in time lost injuries/illnesses or major property, liability or equipment damage • Recommend and enforce appropriate disciplinary action when safety policy violations have occurred. • Perform other related duties as required, directed, or as the situation dictates |
