Description

SUMMARY
Develop assigned territory to recruit freshman and transfer students to the University's campus undergraduate programs. Serves as liaison with assigned schools to promote the university to prospective students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interviews and builds relationships prospective students; reviews and maintains applicant files; makes decisions and/or recommendations regarding admissibility; determines merit scholarship eligibility, and disseminates information to applicants and family members in a consistent and timely manner.

Develops recruitment territory as assigned by the Director including: traveling to various high schools, colleges and other locations for planned events; developing relationships with high schools, colleges, businesses, and community personnel, as well as, other influentials in order to promote the university.

Actively follows-up on leads and inquiries for potential students and partners with the Schools and other University personnel to create a streamlined and engaging student recruitment process.

Actively seeks to engage prospective students and families in a dialogue about how GMercyU may be able to meet their educational goals.

Participates in the planning and organization of special events related to the recruitment of students.

Serves on appropriate university committees

Valid driver's license required.

 
Position Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree required. One year of sales, admissions and/or interviewing experience preferred. Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.

Technical Skills
Proficiency with a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet creation and management and data base management. Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Digital Asset Management systems a plus.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret professional journals; ability to articulate to diverse populations information about Gwynedd Mercy University. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to work with statistical information.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logic and problem solving to a wide range of problems. Individual must be able to think critically.

Interpersonal Skills
Ability to interact and engage effectively and professionally with others. Self-direction and independent work style are very important, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
