Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for increasing dental provider participation in the Denti-Cal Program and increasing dental continuity of care for children enrolled in the Medi-Cal program to receive annual dental exams at the same service office location year after year.

Establishes strong referral relationships within the Dental and Medical Community.

Responsible for recruitment, retention and building relationships with dental providers and encouraging them to enroll in the Denti-Cal program.

Educates and assists providers with the enrollment process and documentation requirements.

Facilitates meetings, delivery, and assists with service needs to participate in the program.

Responds to providers' inquiries, service requests, offering creative and alternative solutions within program's established processes to benefit both providers and patients.

Conducts outreach to current Denti-Cal providers and encourages them to participate in the incentive programs to increase dental continuity of care for children.

Leads trainings for providers and their staff on program updates and requirements including completion of Denti-Cal Provider application and other activities on oral health delivery systems.

Completes reports on all provider visits and events to document issues, opportunities, and trends.

Builds relationships with providers and their staff, learns provider offices workflow and procedures.

Conducts educational outreach and provider retention activities for providers and their staff.

Engages in on-going training, communication and reporting to staff from the collaborative.

Connects and build relationships with community organizations and provider organizations throughout assigned territories.

Participates in planning, sponsoring and attending events in order to raise awareness of program plan, benefits and assist with enrollment with the goal of increasing membership.

Participates in provider training to gather information on provider enrollment documentation requirements and basic billing information such as diagnosis codes, treatment plans, and reimbursement rates.

Works closely with Director to monitor assignments and priorities through regular staff meetings as well as one-on-one meetings to discuss individual questions and obtain assistance as needed.

Provides assistance and technical support with Denti-Cal enrollment forms.

Attends strategic planning and oversight meetings.

Travels for agency business using personal/agency vehicle.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED.

Associate’s Degree in health, business, communications, marketing, or related field required. Additional work experience may substitute required education on a year-by-year basis.

Or

Bachelor’s Degree in health, business, communications, marketing, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years’ related work experience in medical or dental sales and customer service demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job required with an Associate’s Degree.

Or

One (1) year related work experience in medical or dental sales and customer service demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job required with a Bachelor’s Degree.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Network development experience and recruitment of doctors or dentists preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.

Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills with individuals, as well as small and large groups, e.g. customers, clients, stakeholders, providers and their staff.

Ability to build and support team relationships within the program, provide clear and concise expectations for providers and their staff, provide necessary guidelines to maintain a professional, consistent and supportive work environment.

Exceptional customer service, including establishing and maintaining stakeholder member group relationships within the community.

Ability to meet established performance measures and outcomes by Local Dental Pilot Project.

Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language preferred.

Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.

Ability to work well with youth/teens and diverse populations, and with contracted service providers and representatives of partnering agencies.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier.
