The Recruitment Assistant will support all functions of a successful recruitment, selection and onboarding process for all of Opportunity Village.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manages requisitions, applicant status and onboarding process through the Applicant Tracking System.
  2. Responds to applicant inquiries and troubleshoots solutions.
  3. Acts as a steward for applicants and new hires.
  4. Assist with a smooth onboarding process of all new hires.
    1. Review and scan new hire documents.
    2. Process new hire forms appropriately; Form I-9 Paperwork, OIG checks and E-verify.
  5. Maintain and display the highest level of integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of Human Resources
  6. File confidential documents (fingerprints).
  7. Audit new hire files to ensure they are accurate and complete.
  8. Perform initial review of applications to determine qualified candidates and forward applications to the hiring managers.
  9. Place advertisements, attends job fairs and assists in-house recruitment efforts.
  10. Extend offers of employment to successful candidates; ensure pre-employment processes are followed.
    1. Process fingerprinting, background checks, reference checks.
  11. Assist with special projects and audits as needed.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must possess basic math skills (i.e. adding, subtracting, etc.).
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner and ensure confidentiality is of the highest priority in all aspects of duties performed and all communications, both written and verbal. .
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative; use discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Desire to work in Human Resources/Recruiting.
  • Required: 1 – 3 years’ experience working in an office environment with confidential information.
  • Required: High level of positive energy and customer service orientation.
  • Preferred: Experience with web-based compliance systems and applicant tracking software (ATS).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of State and Federal Laws governing Human Resource/Recruiting.
  • Preferred: Education in Human Resources or related field.
  • Preferred: Prior experience working in HR, specifically in the recruitment function.
