This full-time paid internship opportunity is for the summer of 2019. We are seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Assignment Objective: To train the intern on the operation and maintenance of Biotech process equipment, and have the intern assist in the completion of some engineering projects Primary Duties: Assist with troubleshooting and repair of Biotech process equipment, develop ETS training procedures for the DSC, perform some process and/or equipment optimizations at the DSC. Required Skills: Microsoft Office program skills Problem solving skills Hands on technical skills (plus) Automation experience (plus) 2 years of undergraduate work toward a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Other technical degrees relative to Biotech and Pharmaceutical manufacturing may be considered. Hands on mechanical, electrical and/or electronic skills are a plus Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential. Good documentation, writing and communication skills are required.   Position Requirements To participate in the AstraZeneca Intern Program, Students must meet the following eligibility criteria: • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. • Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program, returning to the academic program following AstraZeneca assignment • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 preferred • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date   Full-Time/Part-Time   Location Gaithersburg, MD   This position is currently not accepting applications.
