What are we looking for in an Advocate Office Coordinator?

The Advocate - Office Coordinator is part of our Aspen Victim Advocacy team in Ellensburg. This role serves two functions: as the primary person for reception and clerical duties for the Aspen team, and as an advocate for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. The Advocate-Office Coordinator will provide advocacy-based counseling, referrals, safety planning, and legal support to clients, as well as participate in the rotation for after-hours crisis calls. This position will also assist with training, mentoring, and scheduling volunteers and will provide backup coverage for shelter and legal services. The Office Coordinator duties of this position will include updating files, maintaining statistics & records for reporting purposes, accepting donations, ordering office supplies and educational materials, and serving Aspen visitors on a walk-in basis. This position demands exceptional communication skills and a passion for encouraging and empowering others.

Advocate-Office Coordinator duties may include:

  • providing information, supportive counseling, and referrals to victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence
  • assisting with scheduling, training, and supporting Aspen volunteers
  • updating forms, making photocopies, processing mail, answering & transferring phone calls, maintaining supplies, and other general office duties
  • updating client files, volunteer records, and service statistics
  • representing Aspen at community events and providing educational presentations
  • participating in crisis call coverage outside of regular business hours
 
Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in social services or related field. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.

Other Credentials Required: Driver's License, Vehicle Liability Insurance
