Claire's House is a one of a kind, long-term Therapeutic Living Community for child survivors of human trafficking. We exclusively serve female-identified youth, ages 12-17, who have been trafficked. Claire's House is a not shelter or a first responder service and we do not engage in physical restraints. We value survivor voice and youth voice. We are an equal opportunity employer.

Position Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for meeting the needs of a fast-paced, dynamic program of Catholic Charities of the East Bay in a confidential location. The primary role is to manage assembly, repair, and upkeep of a large mixed-use setting (residential and office space).

Reports to: STRTP Administrators, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

Essential Responsibilities:

Facility Compliance:

  • Ensures site compliance with multiple entities including Fire Clearance, Medi-Cal Mental Health Providers, Department of Social Services. And Community Care Licensing

Building and Office Move and Maintenance:

  • Oversee routine maintenance and safety
  • Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled maintenance duties related to the physical operations of the agency's buildings and equipment
  • Perform light construction such as securing cabinets, door/window repair, light painting, etc.
  • Preventive maintenance and similar activities to maintain clean, safe, inviting facilities
  • Supervise facility volunteers

Health and Safety:

  • Inspect offices for health and safety concerns to reduce risk
  • Respond to emergencies

Other work-related duties as assigned

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Construction/real estate experience, certifications preferred
  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurability
  • Ability to analyze various options and prioritize the workload
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to provide direction and oversight of volunteers and contractors
  • Proficient Computer Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication Skills
  • Must be able to drive using private vehicle
  • Clear TB test, health screening, criminal background check, and any other mandatory State or Federal licensing and certification requirements.

Necessary Forms of Communication: Computer and Internet literacy. Phone and Email. Reading, Writing, Hearing, Speaking, and Understanding English

Full Time/Part Time Status: Part Time, 12-15 hours/week
