Our Team:

The Database Engineer III is responsible for supporting the Direct to Consumer (DTC) development team with database queries and database optimization and normalization. The Database Engineer III is also responsible for the database architecture of DTC projects. This position also assists the Business Intelligence team in generating reports and report automation and supports Database Architecture and DevOps as needed. This professional will be working with new technologies and exciting projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee query optimization and database architecture for the development team.
  • Review and optimize current database architecture.
  • Review, code and identify optimizations.
  • Support Business Intelligence team with Reporting and Report Automation.
  • Support database server administration as needed.

What you bring to the team:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in database administration and queries.
  • Your expertise and valued experience in:
    • Large volumes of data / data warehousing
    • Columnar Databases like Snowflake, AWS Redshirt or Google BigQuery
    • NoSQL / data store (Redis)
    • SQL Database Administration – mastery of high-level advanced queries, optimization of queries and best practices.
    • Scripting languages like Python or similar.
    • List Pulls and Data Segmentation.
    • Database / query optimization.
    • Writing complex queries
    • Data Visualization Tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Looker
    • Database design / architecture and best practices
    • Attention to detail with strong communication skills
    • Finding “expensive” queries and optimize and segment data.

Preferred Experience:

  • MySQL proficiency.
  • Web development experience
  • Experience with eCommerce and relevant reporting.
